Poem from sister Amy

Created by alb1983 6 years ago

I thought it only right that today you should have a poem
As many times over the years I’ve thought, I owe him

But please don’t expect this to be any good
For you were the one who put things like no other could

~

Highly intelligent, a book worm, IT
You always were the opposite in everything to me…

From Scuba diving with the Lanes in the warm Red Sea
To getting up at 4am with Dad to watch the Grand Prix

~

Happy times at Rackspace, somewhere you could shine
We’ll never forget their kindness, in your heart and mine

~

The gentle giant with size 15 feet
Smothering everything with ketchup when you want something to eat

~

Godfather to Annabelle and Ollie
Playing patiently with cars, trucks, trains and a dolly

~

Although you drove me crazy – always so messy
You did used to hate it when things got a bit stressy

Your famous line - ‘I’ll sort it’ - is exactly what you’d do
No thought for yourself, selfless, that’s you

~

You had an extra special closeness to our amazing Mum
The love, care and devotion she showed you was second to none

~

And when we went to look at the log cabin it was meant to be
Now we have made it into your forever living legacy

~

Just a few final words from me-to-you
To show you how much we all love our Drew

Ollie sends hugs and fist bumps too
We just know he’s going to grow to be a mini you

The glue that sticks you and your mates together
We will miss you like crazy, always and forever

I’ll finish up with just one more
Forever in our hearts - we will always be four
